HMS Clyde Naming Ceremony
How do you recreate the excitement and emotion of sliding 2,000 tonnes of steel down a 100m slipway into a river? With ten high powered projectors, some fancy stage lighting and a truckload of fireworks.
This was the first ship to be produced at the new shipbuilding facility at Portsmouth, and we wanted to celebrate not only the vessel, but the return of shipbuilding to the city.
The event involved a VIP dinner and reception for 150 guests in front of HMS Victory, a party for over a thousand staff members and their families, and a conference for 300 members of the defence industry.
